To recalibrate to within an acuracy of ±1 division, immerse the stem to a depth of at least 3 inches into a slush ice solution (60% crushed ice and 40% tap water, well stirred). Wait at least 1 minute for the sensor to reach equilibrium. If the pointer reads 32F the thermometer is correctly calibrated. If recalibration is required, hold the calibration nut securely with one hand and adjust the thermometer head with the other hand until the pointer reads 32°F.
